EA-Series
The EA-Series is an archtop electric guitar manufactured by Japanese guitar manufacturer Aria and sub-contracted to Matsumoku. In 1969, Epiphone had abandoned manufacturing of instruments in America and started importing Epiphone-branded instruments from the Matsumoku company in 1970. These instruments were loosely based on previous Epiphone and Gibson designs and were already in production under other brands such as Aria. The Epiphone line was merely re-branded Matsumoku guitars already in existence. The EA-Series was produced from 1970 to 1979 in Japan and sold to the United States market under the Epiphone brand. Epiphone's original electric archtop line was discontinued and replaced with the bolt-neck EA-Series line of instruments. |
